Jazz Cellar 11

Jazz Cellar 11 is a cozy jazz club in the Old Town of Vilnius, located near the Gate of Dawn – one of the city’s oldest and most iconic landmarks. The club, opened in 2015 in a vaulted cellar, hosts a wide range of concerts: from traditional and modern jazz to improvisational jam sessions. Not only well-known Lithuanian jazz musicians have performed here, but also some international guests: one of the best Latvian saxophonists Deniss Pashkevich, French pianist Gauthier Toux, US saxophonist Walt Weiskopf, Swedish free-jazz drummer Raymond Strid, and many others. The club is also known for its evenings dedicated to jazz legends such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, and more, where visitors can hear world-renowned compositions as well as new interpretations performed by other artists.

The venue accommodates around 100 people and operates as a bar, making it a perfect place for a cozy night out with friends or simply on your own. "Jazz Cellar 11" is the only spot in Vilnius where live jazz plays on a regular basis.

Užupis Jazz Club

Užupis Jazz Club is a live music venue in Vilnius, located in the artists' favorite café “Užupis Kavinė”, on the banks of the Vilnelė River. Situated next to the Užupis Angel monument, it is easily accessible and popular with visitors of the Užupis Republic. The club operates in a historic building built in the 19th–20th centuries, which belongs to the Old Town District.

Užupis Jazz Club brings together local and international musicians, supports the jazz tradition and provides a stage for experimental sounds. In this jazz club, music sounds freely – musicians make decisions “here and now”, so the audience can hear several different musical compositions during one evening. Events usually take place every few weeks, on Wednesdays or Thursdays. The evening program usually consists of an opening concert, followed by a free improvisation (jam) session.

Veranda

“Veranda” is a live music venue-restaurant in Žvėrynas, located in a historic, 19th century wooden house, famous for its cozy, home-like atmosphere. Regular live music events are held here: mainly jazz concerts, traditionally organized on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as “Jazz Tuesday” evenings in the middle of the week. Live jazz has been playing in this place since 2005. “Veranda” hosts concerts by Lithuanian and foreign jazz professionals, various acoustic ensembles, vocal and piano duets, and the repertoire includes jazz standards, light jazz programs and improvisational performances.

The place also operates as a restaurant-bar, offering European cuisine, so visitors can combine dinner with live music. The uniqueness of “Veranda” lies in its atmosphere: a quiet, cozy space, where live music sounds in a small, intimate setting. Due to the combination of high-quality concerts, good acoustics, and a cozy atmosphere, this venue is popular among both jazz lovers and Vilnius residents looking for a quieter evening.

Lucille Blues Bar

“Lucille Blues Bar“ is a live music bar operating in Vilnius Old Town since 2023. It is known for its blues, jazz, and improvisation evenings. The venue is intimate and community-oriented: both the stage and the hall are small, allowing the music to be experienced up close and making the audience feel connected to the performers. „Lucille Blues Bar“ hosts both Lithuanian and international musicians, resulting in a diverse repertoire ranging from classic blues standards to acoustic jazz, funk, and soul performances.

Evenings typically begin with an opening concert, after which the stage is opened for jam sessions or improvisations. There are no strict rules during these sessions, but musicians aim to create a cohesive mood. Most participants are professional musicians, primarily guitarists and vocalists, so on weekends it may be necessary to wait in line.

This blues bar is not just a music venue but also a community space, where improvisation and spontaneity are key elements. Anyone wishing to experience live music in this setting can do so from Wednesday to Sunday.

HiFi music bar “Adata bar”

“Adata bar” is a listening bar, where the main focus is on music and its quality. The concept of this bar was inspired by the tradition of Japanese bars (called “Jazz Kissa”), where vinyl records and a good sound system are the main attractions of the space. The founder's carefully selected vinyl records help create the appropriate atmosphere and immerse you in the experience: specially selected records are played every evening. In his opinion, the return of vinyl records shows that in today’s world, people are increasingly seeking authentic, tangible experiences, slow enjoyment. There is no stage in this bar, in order to emphasize the selected music and its quality.

With its activities, “Adata bar” shows that recorded music can be more than just background sound – it can successfully become the central experience, during which quality, selection and authenticity take on a new meaning. So far, it is the only bar of its kind in Vilnius.
